Sydney was in Top Girls by Caryl Churchill as Isabella Bird/Mrs. Kidd/Joyce at Boston University on November 22nd and 23rd. The play was directed by Pascale Florestal. Click here for more information.

Sydney was a Faculty Associate at Northwestern University's National High School Institute (also known as Cherubs) this summer. She participated in this program when she was in high school, and it contributed to her love for theatre. Sydney used her time this summer to learn more about teaching and get some hands-on experience. She also assisstant directed a production of Argonautika by Mary Zimmerman. Sydney had a great time guiding new theatre makers on their journey to finding and loving their art.

Sydney studied abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. While there, she did in-depth scene study on Richard III, as Lady Anne, and Henry VI Part 2, as Duchess. Sydney also worked on a Comedy of Manners play, Private Lives by Noël Coward. She worked on Macbeth for her final project at LAMDA, and played Macbeth.
Sydney had a wonderful time studying abroad this semester and is grateful for her time in London.

Sydney was in The Spongebob Musical at Wheelock Family Theatre @ Boston University. She was in the Ensemble and is understudying the Mayor/As Cast. The show runs October 5th through the 27th. More information/tickets here.

Sydney worked at Hangar Theatre this summer and performed in two Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) shows. She played Lack in Make Way for Ducklings and Mom in Pete the Cat. Sydney thoroughly enjoyed her time at Hangar Theatre and believes bringing theatre to young audiences is important, especially in spaces created for them. She would love to continue doing TYA in the future.

Sydney was in Morning, Noon, and Night at Company One! It is a new play written by Kirsten Greenidge and the production was directed by Summer L. Williams. The play ran April 26th through May 25th.

Sydney soloed Addicted by Jon Vinyl for her a capella group, BU Bassline, and she performed this song throughout fall semester at different events. Click Here to see a recording of Addicted from Bassline's winter concert.

Sydney was an understudy in Marcus; or the Secret of Sweet by Tarell Alvin McCraney at Boston University. She understudied the roles of Shun/Elegua and Shuanta Iyun, and the play was directed by Rosalind Bevan.

Sydney was an acting intern at the Summer Theatre of New Canaan. She was a part of the Ensemble of the mainstage production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Sydney worked with other professional actors who have either recently started their careers or have been in the business for a while. She loved getting to know everyone and learn from them. This internship also gave her a chance to explore her love for education. Sydney worked with STONC’s DramaRamas program, which provides performance opportunities for children ages 8-18 with special needs. And, she worked on the Junior Company show with middle school students entering grades 5-9.

Sydney made her professional debut as Squeak in The Color Purple at the Umbrella Arts Center in Concord, MA. The musical was directed by BW Gonzalez and ran May 12th through June 4th. Tickets/Information Here

Sydney finished her first year of college, and she said she has learned so much about herself and her craft. She is excited to continue her training and cannot wait to be back in the fall!

Sydney co-stage managed HALF, a senior thesis production, at BU. The play was written by Valyn Lyric Turner and directed by Jayna Shoda Meyer. Sydney had an amazing experience working on that show, which has further peaked her interest in both stage management and directing.

Sydney joined Boston University's BassLine, a premier POC all-gender a cappella group. She is excited to sing with them!

Sydney committed to Boston University to pursue a BFA in Acting with a Concentration in Musical Theatre. The college application and audition process was long, but she believes that her hard work will all be worth it in the end. Choosing a program was difficult for Sydney, and she had to figure out what school would suit her needs best. She researched the curriculum, the community she would be joining, and everything else under the sun. Boston University checks off all of the boxes on her list, and she can’t wait to begin in the fall.
